Facebook Sabbatical
Well, after a long absence, I return to the blog. Just one of the reasons I have taken a sabbatical from the ever time swallowing "facebook" social network. Some of my friends have asked me where I am going on my sabbatical, thinking it was a real one, and I've had to explain it is a virtual adventure.
This is my first virtual sabbatical and it has already been a wonderous adventure. I've had time to begin a virtual tour of some exotic places I could never afford to see in reality, and at the same time get an occassional pointer on photography. I even attended a women's soccer game in real time at the olympics on television, and the final gold game by dvr delayed time. So exciting and I probably experienced the most tense and exhilirating (if you were cheering for team USA) semifinal game between USA and Canada. When it was over, both teams were winners in my book.
Team Canada showed exceptionally good sportmanship when late in the game they chose not to move the ball downfield with a USA player on the ground. Both teams were having leg cramps and on the verge of exhaustion by the time of the second overtime. Indeed, WHAT A GAME!
My heart ached for the olympic runner who was injured when he fell at the first hurdle and even though injured went forward to complete the race.
If you are a facebood friend perhaps you saw the picture of the under ocean hotel room I found. I love imagining what it would be like to spend some time there. I also have posted some pictures of sunsets/sunrises which are always my favorite times of the day. (OK, truthfully, I am up and out for only an occassional sunrise.) And of course of my beloved horned frogs as TCU opens the Big 12 football season very, very soon. I will continue to share the pictures of the virtual beauties I encounter.
Praying for rain as our land is so parched and dry. I should start carrying my umbrella. I will share more random thoughts soon.
With a song in my heart,
SoulSongWriter
